Wade Gore, 74, of Nakina died Monday, November 9, 2015 at Duke University Hospital. He was born in Columbus County, the son of the late John Henry Vanderdilt Gore and Mary Ella Gore. 

He retired from Dupont after 31 years and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Ward Gore; daughter, Nellrisa Gore of Nakina; son, W. Murry Gore and wife, Selina of Tabor City; grandchildren, Jordan Gore Tobias and husband, Sam of Portsmouth, VA, Ashton Gore of Ashville, Benjamin Gore of the US Army in S. Korea; Raven Ward of Tabor City; great-grandchild, Anniston Ward of Tabor City; brothers, J.C. Gore of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Paul Gore of Ash, Brooks Gore and Ken Gore both of Nakina; sisters, Esther  Moses of Nakina, Verna Gore of Clarendon, Shelby Linton of Thorntown, IN, Deloris "Monk" McCumbee of Ash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Waymon Gore and Billy Ray Gore; sisters, Hazel Gore and Cecil Gore.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 13, at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

His family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, November 12, at Peacock Funeral Home.
