Wanda Nell (Gore) Stocks

Mrs. Wanda Nell Gore Stocks, 79, of Nakina, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her home.  She was born October 4, 1940, in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Robert Luther Hall Gore and Vassie Gore.

Nell was a member of Seven Creeks Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also the President of the WMU.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ed Gore and Howard Gore; five sisters, Ola Leigh Cox, Clovis Long, Jeanette Long, Betty Jo Long and Agnes Stocks.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles Verton Stocks; two sons, Charles Edwin Stocks and wife, Faye of Nakina, Anthony Stocks and wife, Emily of Nakina; a daughter, Lynn Penny and husband, Rob of Nakina; brother, Guy Gore of Nakina; six grandchildren, Misty Hardwick and husband, Chris of Nakina, Talisha Gibson of Nakina, Kyle Stocks and wife, Paige of Hickory, NC, Casey Penny of Nakina, Taylor Housand and husband, Addison of Tabor City, Zachary Stocks of Tabor City; seven great grandchildren, Annelle Housand, Calvin Stocks, Autumn Suggs and husband, Cameron, Joel Hardwick, Aubrey Stocks, Aedan Stocks, Castle Gibson; great-great granddaughter, Charley Mae Suggs; many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Seven Creeks Baptist Church by Rev. Mark Hughes, Rev. Joe Turner and Rev. Glenn Lane.  Burial will be in the Seven Creeks Baptist Church Cemetery.
