William "Billy" Gore Obituary

William "Billy" Monroe Gore 48, of Crusoe Island, Whiteville passed on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. He was born in Columbus County on January 18, 1974, the son of William P. Gore, Jr. of Crusoe Island, Whitevillle and the late Betty Etheridge Gore.

He is survived by his father, William P. Gore, Jr.; two brothers, Timmy Dale Gore and wife, Nicci Gore of Crusoe Island, Whiteville and Timothy Earl Hannan of Virginia Beach, VA; aunts, Nancy Etheridge Varney and husband, Dr. Michael Varney, Willa Dean Etheridge and husband, Jackie Etheridge of Crusoe Island, Whiteville, Marie Gore of Nakina; cousins, Jerry Etheridge, Sarah Elizabeth Varney, William Harper, Tammy Beck and Slade Fowler.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Etheridge Gore; maternal grandparents, Rowe and Hattie Etheridge; paternal grandmother, Rosalee Etheridge; paternal grandfather, William Purdie, Gore, Sr.; uncle, Monroe Etheridge, cousin, Crystal Harper.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Ervin Etheridge officiating. Burial will be in the Etheridge Family Cemetery.

His family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Peacock Funeral Home.
