William Purdie Gore, Jr. Obituary

Mr. William Purdie Gore, Jr. 74, of the Crusoe Island Community, Whiteville passed on Friday, November 22, 2024 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington.  He was born August 4, 1950, the son of the late William Purdie Gore, Sr. and Rosa Lee Brock Gore Etheridge .


He is survived by son, Timmy Dale Gore and wife, Nicci of Crusoe and their daughter, Angel Ann Gore; son, Timothy Earl  Hannan of Virginia Beach; sister, Rose Marie Gore of Nakina; nephews, William Harper and Slade Fowler; niece, Tammy Beck; great nephews, Dylan and Drake Harper, Jordan Register; great niece, Jacquline Register.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Gore; a son, William Monroe "Billy" Gore; his parents; a niece, Crystal Marie Harper; great nephew, Dakota Register.


His funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church with Ervin Etheridge officiating. Burial will be in the Etheridge Cemetery.


His family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 PM Wednesday prior to his service at Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church.


Serving as pallbearers will be William Harper, Jackie Ward, Dr. Michael Varney, Brian Etheridge, Raymond Long and Bradley Etheridge.
