Jane Brooks Thompson                                                                      

Mrs. Jane  (Cocoa) Brooks Thompson 66, of Whiteville died Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center, Whiteville.  She was born August 11, 1950 in Columbus County.

Jane received an associate degree from Southeastern Community College.  She was formerly employed with Pizza Hut.

She is survived by her husband, James W. Thompson; a son, Benjamin Brooks of Whiteville; a brother, Dr. James A. Brooks, Jr. and wife,  Jackie  Brooks of Lake Wacamaw; a granddaughter, Tatyana Nevaeh Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Brooks and Elizabeth High Brooks; grandparents, Walter P. High and Mary D. High.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Chip Hannah and Rev. Lester Frink. Burial will be in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park. 

Her family will receive friends 7:00 –8:30 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Peacock Funeral Home.
