Mrs. Pauline Helms Vannoy 80, of Bladenboro, formerly of Whiteville died Saturday, February 18, 1017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center, Whiteville.  She was born June 12, 1936 in Bladen County the daughter of the late Isaac Claude Helms and Ida Bell Pait Helms.

Mrs. Vannoy was a member of Galead Baptist Church in Bladenboro. She formerly taught at Columbus Christian Academy, was the administrator for South Mountain Children's Home, and was a house parent at Boy's & Girl's Home of NC.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Dean Vannoy, Sr.; a son, Dean Vannoy and wife, Teresa of Longwood, NC; three daughters, Cyndi Vannoy Beck and husband, Bruce of Bladenboro, NC, Michelle Vannoy Ezzell and husband, Jerry of Whiteville, Paula Vannoy Roney of Sunset Beach, NC; brothers, Charles Helms and wife, Ruby of Bladenboro, Harold Helms and wife, Geraldine of Bladenboro, Dewey Helms and wife, Carol of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Sara Ivey, Wescott Brown,  Isaac Ezzell, Heather Howard, Lauren Edwards, Hannah Messer, Felicia Culler, Samantha Vannoy, Ian McPherson, Israel Beck, Joel McPherson; eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jonathan Daniel Ezzell, a granddaughter, Terri Lynn Vannoy, a son-in-law, Lee Roney.

A memorial service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Piney Forest Baptist Church in Chadbourn by Rev. Willard McPherson and Rev. Warren Hill.  Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her service at the church and at 6:00 pm Monday, February 20, 2017 the home of Jerry and Michelle Ezzell, 204 E. College St., Whiteville, NC.
