Peggy (Floyd) Duncan

Peggy Duncan, 80, formerly of Whiteville died Monday, April 11, 2016 in Newport News, VA.  She was born in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Hubert Floyd and Ruth Hill Floyd.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray M. Duncan, her son Thomas R. Duncan, her brother Joseph Floyd, and sisters Eva Floyd Richardson, Ellen Floyd Gilbert, and Sara Floyd Duncan.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Clark and husband Del, and grandson Franklin of Newport News, Virginia,  grandsons Joshua Duncan of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jeremiah Duncan of Wilmington, NC.

Mrs. Duncan was a 1953 graduate of Whiteville High School and was employed by National Spinning Co. for 35 years with the ending position of Training & Safety Supervisor. Additionally, as a long-time memberof Sacred Heart Parrish, Peggy served on the Pastoral Council, served as the Secretary of the Ladies Guild and as a Eucharistic Minister. She dearly loved Columbus County especially the azaleas, dogwoods,roses and crepe myrtles.  Her most precious memories shared with us of late were growing up on the farm at Turkey Neck and summers spent at Lake Waccamaw. 

Her funeral will be at 5:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Father Marco Antonio Gonzalez.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Peacock Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Duncan's personal request was to have donations made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 N. Lee Street, Whiteville, NC  28472.
