Viola Mae (Creech) Cartrette

Viola Mae Creech Cartrette 76, of Whiteville died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her home.  She was born September 23, 1940 in Columbus County the daughter of the late Lee Byron Creech and Julia Rebecca Creech.  She was the widow of the late James Clarence Cartrette, Sr.

She is survived by her children, J. C. Cartrette, Jr. and wife, Linda of Hallsboro, Genevieve Inman and husband, Thomas of Whiteville, Vickie Cartrette Harwood of Whiteville, Amy Cartrette  and Jeff of Whiteville; grandchildren, James  Cartrette , Aaron Cartrette, Elisha Bass and husband, Bert, Miranda Edwards and husband, Bill, Justin Stancil, Jason Jordan and Chrissy, Julia Jordan and Nathan, Brianna Smith, Evan Wright; great grandchildren, Samantha Bass, Kirkland Bass, Ethan Bass, Parker Bass, Paxton Bass, Laney Mae Bass, Veyda Edwards, Hailey Jordan, Rylan Jordan, Bryson Johnston, Grant Greene, Victoria Greene, Lexie Greene; brothers, Bobby Creech and wife, Alice; sisters, Virginia Cartrette and husband, Jerry, Rose Hinson and husband, Devon.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Stephen Creech, Woodell Creech, MacArthur Creech, Fred Creech and a sister, Maggie Creech.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Whiteville Church Of God by Rev. Chris Yarusinsky and Rev. Troy Little.

Her family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 pm Monday, January 16, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home.
