I am so sad to hear about Gene. Our friendship goes way back to the late 60's. Everytime I hear "bubblegum" music I think of Gene. I am praying for his family to find comfort and peace during this sad time. RIP my friend!!!!!!

Jennifer, Craig and Tyler; I know you will all miss your father dearly. Jennifer, I know you were his baby girl and will always be. Craig, you and your dad had a special connection, that I know you will miss. Tyler, your dad loved and bragged on you. May you each find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I am very saddened at the loss of Gene. I haven't seen him in many years but we had some good times together...Myself, Gene, Stanley Baldwin and Allen Blackmon. This was back in the 60's. Gene was such a good person or he might have gotten mad when I tore the transmission out of his Z28 that Saturday night. It's just hard to believe he's gone. God Bless his family and friends...I know he will be missed. RIP my friend.

Gene was a member of our family for a long time...divorce never changed that fact. We will all miss that handsome face, that mischievious smile, that big heart, and that gift of music and singing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Marsha, Tyler, Craig, Jennifer, and the entire Jones family. Gene left us way too soon, but we will be reunited again one day. We will miss you, Gene...God speed!

So sad to see such a good man and father leave us. Prayers and sorrow for all his family. As mortals we question why these things happen. Trust in the Lord.
His plan is the best and one day we will all understand....but not today.

I feel compassion for your whole family Gene. May you rest in peace. We go back to the early 70's when I married your childhood friend. Life is a journey we only get to do once. Gene I believe you lived your life your way. My condolences to the whole family, especially to all of your children. You always had the baddest cars in the area.

Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I know you will miss him greatly. Lost my dad in 1967 and I still miss him. I will keep you in my prayers and know that I am thinking of you. Love you girl.

I knew Gene back in the late 60's. When him and Allen Blackmon use to hang around together. Myself and Jerry Ward would come to Whiteville from Wilmington on the weekends and hang around with Gene and Allen some. Gene was always a very caring and soft spoken guy..My thoughts and prayer's for the family...God Bless...
